Scaffold Access for External Re-Render

A five bedroom detached farmhouse located in Mold required full external re-rendering. As the property had experienced settlement throughout its life, safe working access had to be considered in more detail before erecting any scaffold.
A5G Access were contracted to design and erect a full perimeter scaffold around the property, liaising with the structural engineer throughout every stage of the design and build. We delivered a safe, clear and compliant scaffold from start to finish that met all TG20 specifications.
The Challenge
Due to previous settlement of the farmhouse there were certain areas of movement throughout specific elevations. As such this was no standard render access job. We had to carefully consider base position, tie-ins and loading on these areas to prevent unnecessary stressing of the concerned elevations. Close involvement from our structural engineer was crucial.
Our Approach
Our team liaised with the structural engineer from start to finish to ascertain safe access points to tie scaffold to and locate safe access points to place base plates. We supplied a fully boarded TG20 compliant independent scaffold with safe working platforms allowing access around the varying ground levels and older stonework of the property. Special care was taken during the build to ensure those vulnerable areas were avoided.
All work was inspected upon handover and also spot checked during the hire period with all paperwork provided. This allowed the render contractors to feel confident in their work at height knowing that we were never compromising the structure beneath them.

Result
Safe access was provided to every elevation allowing the render contractors to complete the job on time and to the highest standards. On completion, we returned to strike the scaffold down neatly to leave both the house and surrounding gardens how we found them.
